The Vegas Golden Knights completed a trade for defenseman Alec Martinez from the LA Kings on Wednesday, giving up two second round picks, one each in 2020 and 2021. Martinez, age 32, has one year remaining on his $4 million AAV contract after this season.
Last night at the Fortress, we witnessed an action-packed game against Stanley Cup Winners, St. Louis Blues, for the second time this season. Perhaps you recall our January 4th matchup - we were down 3-0 at one point, came back to tie up the game 4-4, and then Chandler Stephenson hit the OT thriller to finish that game 5-4.
In what was the first game back in T-Mobile Arena since January 11th, the Vegas Golden Knights took on the Carolina Hurricanes, who they beat just over a week ago on the road in Raleigh with a final score of 4-3. This time though, the Knights didn't come out on top, losing in a shootout 6-5 when our usual shootout ringers couldn't cut it and Marc-Andre Fleury couldn't make the stops coming from the other side.
TheVegas Golden Knightsannounced Thursday that they purchased an American Hockey League franchise membership from Spurs Sports and Entertainment, which currently operates the San Antonio Rampage. In the announcement, Golden Knights officials said they are applying to relocate the team to Henderson. Specific details of a team name, logo, ticket pricing and home arena would be announced after AHL approval.
On back to back nights on the road, the Vegas Golden Knights showed vast improvement and emerged victorious against both home teams. The Vegas Golden Knights vs Carolina Hurricanes game started hot for us - VGK got an early 2-0 lead as Stastny and Marchessault picked some quick goals in the first. The third period, however, was where all the real excitement came, as Schmidt hit a stunner to bring us up to a 3-1 lead with about 8 minutes left. Then suddenly we once again found ourselves in a tie at 3-3 after facing a Nicolas Roy penalty...
A group of five Golden Knights, led by Alex Tuch, have officially opened the first NHL player-owned sports bar in Las Vegas. With the Feb. 24 NHL trade deadline approaching, it’s time to play general manager...
When Paul Stastny was brought into the Vegas Golden Knights organization in 2018, he was expected to contribute right off the bat. Here’s the thing aboutStastny. He is 35 years old. It would be shocking if NHL Seattle didn’t make a play for Gallant this summer, well ahead of its time frame for landing a coach by spring 2021. In recent months, senior NHL Seattle officials had confided the future coach could be somebody like Gallant was prior to Vegas taking him on.
“I was quite surprised actually when it happened,” Gerard Gallant said on Saturday night. “You don’t see something coming like that when you have 2 ½ years in. But I’m not going to worry about the past. I’m going to look at the future and that’s what you have to do as a coach.”
Gerard Gallant was fired as coach of the Vegas Golden Knights on Wednesday and replaced by Peter DeBoer. "In order for our team to reach its full potential, we determined a coaching change was necessary," Golden Knights general manager Kelly McCrimmon said. "Our team is capable of more than we have demonstrated this season.
