Returning To The Fortress

In what was the first game back in T-Mobile Arena since January 11th, the Vegas Golden Knights took on the Carolina Hurricanes, who they beat just over a week ago on the road in Raleigh with a final score of 4-3.  This time though, the Knights didn't come out on top, losing in a shootout 6-5 when our usual shootout ringers couldn't cut it and Marc-Andre Fleury couldn't make the stops coming from the other side.
The game did not lack any excitement however, as we grabbed an early 2-0 lead, just to see that lead knocked down a peg with a Carolina goal at the end of the first period, just moments before intermission.

Erik Haula's First Time Back

The team did honor the return of inaugural roster forward Erik Haula, who they traded to the Carolina Hurricanes for Nicolas Royin June 2019.   A very touching video presentation showing highlights of Erik Haula, both on and off the ice, had fans on their feet and tears in many eyes, as he was beloved by many.
Those cheers didn't last too long after though, as Haula scored a late goal against us to make the game 4-3 (Knights still in the lead) late in the third.  He also had an assist a bit later on another goal, which saw both teams head to a scoreless OT, followed by a shootout where we just couldn't close the deal.
It was good to be back in The Fortress, and while we'll take the 1 point we did pick up by making it into OT, it did seem we let the third period slip away from us in a game where we had seemed dominant until that time.

Coming Up For The Vegas Golden Knights

The Vegas Golden Knights head out on the road to take on the Wild for one game before returning Thursday for a rematch against the St. Louis Blues, and a lengthy homestand following which will include a day time Capitals game on President's Day, the Knight To Remember Gala and a visit from the 1980 Miracle On Ice Olympic Hockey team, to be honored at season ticket member event Friday February 21st and then during the game on the 22nd versus the Florida Panthers.
