Vegas Golden Knights Overcome Third Period Deficit To Win In Overtime
Jonathan Marchessault Scores Winning Goal In Overtime Against St. Louis Blues
Last night at the Fortress, we witnessed an action-packed game against Stanley Cup Winners, St. Louis Blues, for the second time this season. Perhaps you recall our January 4th matchup - we were down 3-0 at one point, came back to tie up the game 4-4, and then Chandler Stephenson hit the OT thriller to finish that game 5-4.
Well, we saw a bit of the same happen last night when the Vegas Golden Knights pulled out of a 4-2 deficit in the third period to tie it up and head back to OT once again. This time, our victory was courtesy of Jonathan Marchessault, in glorious fashion as the arena exploded.
It was a great way to start a somewhat lengthy upcoming homestand at a time of the season when our playoff spot is not only guaranteed, but actually hangs in the balance as teams in the Pacific Division are neck in neck to earn a coveted spot.
The Vegas Golden Knights return to T-Mobile Arena tomorrow evening to take on the New York Islanders, followed a President's Day matchup against the Washington Capitals on Monday.
